How the SEAL TIGHT Damper works:

Seal Tight Chimney Closed

The SEAL TIGHT DAMPER attaches to the top of the chimney's flue tile liner. Provides a tight, gasketed fit that seals in your heat and seals out weather, insects, birds and animals.

Seal Tight Chimney Open

A slight pull on the chain releases the spring-loaded top into the open position when you're ready to burn your fireplace.

Handle Black Background

SEAL TIGHT dampers are EASY to operate! The bracket is attached to the fireplace wall, keeping the cool-touch spring handle easily accessible. A slight pull on the handle opens and closes the damper.

HYC Chimney

Seal Tight Dampers can be installed beneath a HY-C chimney cap; this provides a cover if the damper is open when it is raining or snowing; also provides screening to keep out birds and animals when the Seal Tight damper is in the open position.

  • 50' cable which can be cut to adjust for perfect fit; fireplace bracket and cool-touch spring handle
  • Mounting adhesive and hardware

Optional Accessories:

  • 50 replacement cable
  • 4' cable shield (protects cable inside chimneys with offsets)

SEAL TIGHT Dampers are made for use only with open burning masonry fireplace chimneys and are NOT suitable for use in these installations:

  • Don't use on chimneys serving vented gas logs. Vented gas logs require the fireplace damper to be removed completely or fixed to a permanently open position; this is to assure that soot, fumes and carbon monoxide do not enter your home.
  • Don't use on chimneys serving wood stoves or other appliances such as inserts, furnaces, etc.

INSTALLATION

SEAL TIGHT Dampers can be installed by homeowners who feel comfortable working on a roof, but U.S. Fireplace Products, Inc. strongly recommends you use the services of a qualified chimney sweep  who can also inspect your chimney and provide other valuable home safety services.
